In addition to it, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was also signed between Islamic Relief Pakistan and Punjab Bait-Ul-Maal to join hands for women empowerment through a range of initiatives in Rawalpindi.
Chairman (Ameen) Punjab Bait-ul-Maal, Malik Muhamamd Azam was chief guest on the occasion. Country Director, Islamic Relief Pakistan, Umair Hasan and representatives of other government departments were also present during the ceremony.
Speaking at the occasion, Chairman Punjab Bait ulMaal, Malik Muhammad Ameen said "Partnering with Islamic Relief for women empowerment is a step in the right direction. We are planning to expand and implement such initiatives across Punjab".
He added that "Providing the deserving women with skills and a safe place to learn will help us to address the issue of poverty."
Umair Hasan, Country Director Islamic Relief Pakistan termed the partnership "welcoming and encouraging". He said Islamic Relief is committed to uplift and empower the most affected and vulnerable segment of the society especially women and children through education and skill development.
